Personalized Ornaments

The ornament on the cover of the Holiday Mini has been very popular this year. I only made a few myself, but I know I'll be making more for next year. They are so much fun to make! I decided to personalize one for my friend in memory of her little girl. It's hard to tell from the photo but it's one of the smaller ornament framelits in the collection. It was a tiny ornament, which is fitting for a tiny baby!

Three Cards

 Recently, my friend's 2.5 year old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. I decided to send her this card. I used the retired Beary Best Friends stamp set and the phrase is from the Best of Everything Stamp set. I felt it was an appropriate phrase for the situation, because I really do want the best for her.

I also made my friend and her other daughter a card. I think as a family they need to know that they are all in my thoughts. Here is the card I made for my friend, using the retired Strength & Hope stamp set. I felt she needs all the hope and strength she can get during this difficult time.

Here is the card I made for her other daughter. I added the two sisters names to the card after I took this photo. I used the Owl Punch, Heart framelits and the new Woodgrain embossing folder to make it look like they were peeking out from a tree. I like how it turned out.

Sometimes there isn't much you can do to help people, especially if they live far away. But letting them know that you are thinking of them means a lot. I know this from experience and I post these cards in hopes to influence you to reach out and let someone know you're thinking of them.  No need to wait for a reason.

Open House Card

 

This card was the make n take at my open house for the new 2012-13 Catalogue. It was very simple to make and it used some of our new products and colors.  I enhanced the flower a bit by coloring in the centre and dotting around the outside to give it a similar look to the DSP. I curled the for you banner and used dimensionals to raise it.

Chris & Angela's Wedding Invitation

My little cousin is getting married this summer. He and his fiancee asked me to make their wedding invitations. I hope they like how it turned out.

The invitations were made in a gated style. The band around the middle slips off to open the gate. It's hard to tell from the photos but I used Smooch Spritz to add a little sparkle to the Wisteria Wonder card stock.

Here is the inside of the invitations. I blocked out the important information so the whole world won't show up at their wedding. :)  I used MDS (My Digital Studio) to create the body of the invitation.

Up in the Air

I made these cards for my auntie and my mother-in-law. My auntie did not get to see hers. I kept forgetting to pop them in the mail and when I finally did, it was to arrive on Friday. Thursday night she had a stroke, and remained unconscious for a couple days before she passed away.

She was 101 years old and one of my favorite people in the world.

Moral of the story... don't forget your mail when you go out the door!

Demo Love Tag

I made this little tag for a customer order instead of my usual 3x3 Thank You cards.

I got the idea from my upline who made an almost identical tag using the Two Tags Die.

On the back, I stamped Thanks for Your Order.

I really love this color combination and wish I had discovered it sooner.

Valentine Card Class

On Friday, I had a valentine's card class. The cards we made were super easy and a lot of fun! Take a look:

I found the inspiration for this card on Stampin' Connection by Cathy Autrey. I made mine slightly different based upon what materials I had on hand. I water colored the tree using our blender pens and the hearts are from the Owl Punch.

This card was inspired by a card I received in our team swap made by my sideline. Again, I switched it up slightly by using different DSP. I love how simple it is yet it makes quite the impact.

This card was inspired by one I saw on my Upline's display. I gave it a little dazzle with the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

And this card is a direct CAS of one made by my Upline's Upline for our team swap with exception of the words (I didn't have the stamp she used). I love the colors and again, it was very simple to make but has a great impact. Isn't that ruffled ribbon awesome?

Storing Framelits and Edgelits

The Framelits Dies come in a sturdy envelope for storage. However, the original packaging doesn't stick for very long, and to store them loosely in the envelope can make it difficult to grab the right size conveniently.

I've seen many people using Stampin' Up Stamp Cases ( 119105 sold in a set of 4) with our magnetic sheets. I thought this was a good idea, but then I wondered... can I use the magnet sheets inside the envelopes?

Turns out we can. Cut the magnetic sheets with the Table Top Paper Cutter to 6x5, and attach Framelits. I did not peel off the backing on the magnetic sheets, so it is not stuck to anything. Just slide it out when you need to get the Framelits. Perfect!

I did this with all of the Framelits and Edgelits.

Dazzling

This card was inspired by similar ones I've seen floating around on Stampin' Connection and Pinterest. I don't know who originally created it.

Again, I used the Take It To Heart Stamp set, using one of my favorite Stampin' Up! Colors, Cherry Cobbler. The brand new Framelits and Adorning Accent Embossing Folders were used as well.

For a little extra detail, the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details was added to make the trees sparkle.

Framelits

The Framelits are thin dies that allow you to place your shapes and images precisely where you want them to be. They come in a set of 6 dies in a sturdy envelope for storage. There are currently two collections, the Heart Collection (125599) and the Labels Collection (125598). I used the Heart Collection Framelits on the card in yesterday's post.

They are super easy to use and the photos below will show you how!



Stamp your image if you are using one.
Here, I am using the largest heart from the Take It To Heart stamp set.



Find the framelit that fits your image
and place it on top with the sharp edge face down.



Make a sandwich between two cutting boards
and place it on Tab 2 of your platform.



Run it through the Big Shot



Simply pop out the image.



And voila! You have a perfectly cut out shape around your image.

Heartfelt Wishes

This card was inspired by the sample on page 15 of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalogue. I changed it a bit based on what products I had on hand and made it my own.

It's hard to see in the photo but I scored a grid pattern on the Pool Party background using our Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

I really like how this card turned out, and I hope you like it too!
