Wacky Watercooler 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop (I'm back!)

Hello!

I'm back! It's been a long time since I've posted on this blog.  The main reason is because my laptop was out of commission. I've finally bought a new one... just in time to participate in this alumni blog hop! (How I have missed you all, Watercooler Gang!)

A lot has happened since my last post. It has been a very difficult year! I have not been crafting as much as I would like to due to some of the things that have been happening lately, including the injury I mention in my last post in April 2015.  So, when Heidi contacted me about this alumni blog hop, I thought it would be a good chance to "jump back in".

With a new computer, I'll do my best to post more regularly. I have not returned as a demonstrator, so I will soon make changes on my blog to reflect that (including a name change). Something I meant to do a year ago! But until the blog hop is finished, I will leave it as it is. I hope that you will continue to come by and visit me and follow my creative journey.

My projects for this blog hop:

Project One: Featuring an Anniversary Card.

July is a month of memories for me.  This month would have been my 13th wedding anniversary.  For this Anniversary project, I have used the new Bear Hugs stamp set, as my late husband and I love bears.  The colors I chose also are similar to our wedding day colors. 

Project Two: Featuring a stamp set that has survived since being introduced in 2013 (Wetlands, Gorgeous Grunge, Flower Shop).

For this project, I have used both Wetlands and Gorgeous Grunge to create a simple Masculine card. 

Project Three: Featuring your version of a CASE from the original blog hop.

For this project, I have chosen to CASE Deborah Smart's card. While my card is different, I used the same stamp set and coloring technique that Deborah uses in her post.

WCC16 - CASE the Occasions Catalogue

 

Within the pages of the 2015 Occasions catalogue, there are several inspiring projects. The Watercooler Challenge this week is to CASE (copy and share everything) one of the projects in the catalogue.  Here`s my project, inspired by the HELLO card on page 32:

As you can see, I have changed the card from a Hello card to a Valentine.  I used different colors but followed the basic concept, using the Simply Pressed Clay for the letters and hearts. In retrospect, I may have chosen to make the hearts in the same Raspberry ripple as the highlight instead of Wisteria Wonder, but it still turned out pretty.

WCC15 - New

Happy New Year!!

I hope this finds you all doing well.  I am recovering from a bit of a flu/cold that attacked me this past week. As a result, I was a bit behind in getting ready for the latest Watercooler challenge but here it is!

The topic is "New". This could be interpreted in many ways. Since I do not yet have new product from the brand new 2015 Occasions Catalogue (mine will arrive this week) I decided to try a new-to-me fancy fold card.

I chose to do a Flip Card. Here's what I came up with:

Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop - Best of....

Welcome to the Best of.... Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!

As always, the blog hop goes in circular motion, so you'll be going around in a circle from wherever you start you'll end up.   If you are following from the beginning then you should be arriving from Gail's blog and going to Stefanie's blog from here.  

This time we are doing something a little different. First we are choosing the best of another Watercooler member's blog hop projects and CASE-ing it. Then we are doing best of current product and best of retired product.

Today I have for you the best of Jeanne's watercooler blog hop projects. Click HERE to see the original version. Here's my version:

As you can see, I changed the color, the words and the background but otherwise I did the same idea. I also added dazzling details to the word "Joy".  Such a fun and simple card to make that will WOW people.

Secondly, I did a project for Best of current products.  I chose to feature the Bundles as my current project. All the bundles in the catalogue are fabulous!  And not to mention you get a 15% discount for bundling up.  For my project I used the bundle with the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and the Stars framelits :

I made a simple star shaped ornament by stamping several stars in the silver metallic ink and embossing them with silver embossing powder. And of course cutting them out so simply with the star framelits. I folded each star and glued them all together.  I used one of my favorite retired product, the Crop-a-dile to punch a hole and then I strung the silver ribbon through to complete the ornament.

WCC14 - Box, Bag or Tag

Over at the Watercooler we are having the last challenge of the year. It`s a Box, Bag or Tag challenge. Perfect for finishing off all those beautiful gift packages.

Here`s my project for this challenge:

I made a simple bookmark tag using the scalloped tag topper on Crumb Cake cardstock. I used White Craft ink to stamp the bear and snowflakes from the White Christmas stamp set.  I colored in the Bear and added more snow along the bottom using my chalk marker.  The Bear`s eye and the sentiment done in Early Espresso. Finally I finished it off with the lovely ribbon.

WCC13 - Christmas

The current challenge over at the Watercooler has begun.  This time it is another Theme challenge and the theme is Christmas!

Here is my contribution to the challenge:

It is not a completely original idea. I have seen similar cards throughout Pinterest and other online sources.  I am not sure who to credit for the original idea.

Here I used the "All Is Calm" washi tape, and pulled my colors (Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizazz) from that.  I use Gorgeous Grunge in both colors for the background.  The Tree, using Festival of Trees along with the Tree Punch, is done in Pear Pizazz.  The greeting comes from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon.  I added some bling using the Basic Jewels.   The card took me all of 5 minutes or even less, and didn't take much effort at all. In fact, the biggest effort was finding the product on my very messy craft table.  :)

WCC12 - Color Challenge (Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Silver)

Challenge time again. This time it is another Color challenge.  Here are the colors we are challenged to use this time:

I just love this color combination.  Here is what I came up with using these colors: 

I used Night of Navy for the base color. A strip of Brushed Silver cardstock with some Silver Washi Tape from the All is Calm collection. I cut out circles in Marina Mist and Whisper White.  The Marina Mist circle is embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.   I used the Festival of Trees stamp set to stamp the tree. First I stamped it in the Silver Encore ink, then embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder.  I then used the Marina Mist to color the decorations.  I used the Noel framelit from Wonderful Wreath Collection in both the Silver and Night of Navy.  Finally, I used some jewels to embellish the card and add some bling.

Wacky Watercooler October Blog Hop

It's time for another blog hop!  If you're new here, this blog hops in a circular motion, so no matter where you start, you'll end up back to the beginning.  If you're following this blog hop in order of appearance, you'll have come from KatheD's blog and from here, you'll go to Kath Rick's blog.  I feel like a sandwich between the Kath(e)'s ! :)

This time the focus is on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since we have already had Thanksgiving here in Canada, I will focus on Christmas. I only have two projects for you today. I hope you'll enjoy them. You'll notice a bit of "oopsies" on both of them but I decided to leave it be. Crafting isn't about perfection as much as it is about having fun.

First up, I made this ornament using the Simply Pressed Clay and the Bears from the Bearing Gifts and White Christmas stamp sets. I added some sparkle using the dazzling details.

Next up I made a gift tag. I made it longer than a normal tag so it could dub as a bookmark if one wanted to.  I used the White Christmas set on this one also. The bird, however, comes from the Festival of Trees.

WCC11 - Pinterest CASE

Over at the Watercooler, we are challenging ourselves to CASE a pin on Pinterest.  Here's my CASE:

Check out my inspiration pin HERE. Clicking the link led me to Debbie Henderson's blog and her original creation. I did not change much. I used a different embossing folder for the green oval and I added a few more bling. I also didn't have a stitching background like the original so instead I used my piercing mat to create the "stitches".

I love challenges like this!  As much as I liked this card, I may not have actually tried creating it without a challenge to push me. Thank you for the inspiration, Debbie!

WCC10 - Product Challenge (Blendabilities)

It's time for the 10th Watercooler Challenge. This time we are using Blendabilities in a product challenge. 

Here is my project for this challenge: 

 

I used my blendabilities to color the clothes and the wreath in the Bearing Gifts stamp. I masked a circle from my circle framelit collection and sponged around the outside to create the sky and moon effect. I tore strips of paper to make the snow, then used my Dazzling Details to give it a little sparkle.

WCC09 - Halloween

 

The latest challenge over at the Watercooler is a theme challenge. The theme is "Halloween".  It has been so much fun being an artist for the Watercooler Challenges! Here's my creation for WCC09:

For this card, I have used the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Elegant Butterfly Punch (trimmed), Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  The stems are freehand cut with Paper Snips. Colors used here are Night of Navy, Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Basic Black.

Wacky Watercooler September Blog Hop

September already! The summer flew by. We have been having some cooler weather lately. I enjoy the fall colors and wearing my hoodies, but I am not ready for it to get much colder than has been.

This blog hop is focused on Fall theme.  As always, this hop goes in circular motion, so it doesn't matter where you start, you'll end up in the same spot.  If you've been following it in order then you've arrived from Jackie's blog. Here are my fall theme creations for this hop, featuring items from both the 2014-15 Annual Catalogue as well as the Current Holiday Mini.  Hope you enjoy!!

This card uses the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framlits. It also uses the Many Thanks stamp set and the Filigree Frame Embossing Folder.

I just love the White Christmas stamp set but it isn't just for winter.  Here I used the trees from that set and then added the colorful leaves using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I made the button with the Simply Pressed Clay and tied on a linen bow.

Finally this one is just a simple card using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. I've seen similar ones online but I didn't directly CASE any particular project.
