Pleasant Poppies

 

If you think this card looks familiar, you're probably right! I was inspired by the card on page 71 of the 2012-13 catalouge. On closer inspection, it doesn't look much the same, but it is where the idea began to formulate. 

For this card, I used Pleasant Poppies, which is a background stamp. Some background stamps are now available in clear, much to my delight! I used a marker to color it evenly.

I used the large scallop edgelit, and the coordinating embossing folder. You may note that I did not cut out the scallop on the embossed piece, but I thought it looks nice that way. I used some ribbon as well to finish off the piece.

Valentine Card Class

On Friday, I had a valentine's card class. The cards we made were super easy and a lot of fun! Take a look:

I found the inspiration for this card on Stampin' Connection by Cathy Autrey. I made mine slightly different based upon what materials I had on hand. I water colored the tree using our blender pens and the hearts are from the Owl Punch.

This card was inspired by a card I received in our team swap made by my sideline. Again, I switched it up slightly by using different DSP. I love how simple it is yet it makes quite the impact.

This card was inspired by one I saw on my Upline's display. I gave it a little dazzle with the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

And this card is a direct CAS of one made by my Upline's Upline for our team swap with exception of the words (I didn't have the stamp she used). I love the colors and again, it was very simple to make but has a great impact. Isn't that ruffled ribbon awesome?

Storing Framelits and Edgelits

The Framelits Dies come in a sturdy envelope for storage. However, the original packaging doesn't stick for very long, and to store them loosely in the envelope can make it difficult to grab the right size conveniently.

I've seen many people using Stampin' Up Stamp Cases ( 119105 sold in a set of 4) with our magnetic sheets. I thought this was a good idea, but then I wondered... can I use the magnet sheets inside the envelopes?

Turns out we can. Cut the magnetic sheets with the Table Top Paper Cutter to 6x5, and attach Framelits. I did not peel off the backing on the magnetic sheets, so it is not stuck to anything. Just slide it out when you need to get the Framelits. Perfect!

I did this with all of the Framelits and Edgelits.

Heartfelt Wishes

This card was inspired by the sample on page 15 of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalogue. I changed it a bit based on what products I had on hand and made it my own.

It's hard to see in the photo but I scored a grid pattern on the Pool Party background using our Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

I really like how this card turned out, and I hope you like it too!
